Award-winning digital platform recommended by NICE

The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) has endorsed a digital health platform for adults wishing to lose weight.

Gro Health’s W8Buddy tool has been recommended by NICE for providing a specialist weight-management service to people who are eligible for weight-loss medications such as Wegovy.

Created by the specialist weight management team and obesity specialists at the University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire NHS Trust, the platform focuses on empowering people to improve their health and lose weight.

The programme is the first digital support tool developed specifically for NHS Tier 2 Weight Management Services.

Supporting both individuals and family members the platform provides users with a personalised weight management plan which helps improve attitudes, beliefs, knowledge and skills to self-manage their health.

Gro Health is led by AI expert Arjun Panesar and behavioural change psychologist Charlotte Summers – the creators of the Low Carb Program which support one in four people to achieve type 2 diabetes remission.

Arjun said: “Gro Health’s W8Buddy tool being recommended by NICE is a significant milestone in our mission to empower individuals on their weight-loss journey.

“This endorsement reinforces the effectiveness and reliability of our platform in supporting those looking to achieve weight loss.”

He added: “We are committed to providing innovative solutions that make a real difference in people’s lives, and this recognition from NICE is a testament to the positive impact we’re making on the path to healthier, happier lives.
